The wisdom of Proverbs

1: 1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

1:2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

1:3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice and judgment , and equity;

1:4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

1:5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

1:6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

1:7The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

14:11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

14:33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

16:03 Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.

18:13 He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.

18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit therof.

22:11 He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.

22:12 The eyes of the Lord preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor.

24:22 For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?
